12 Feb Three’s a Crowd
After being dumped by her boyfriend for being “too vanilla”, Holly (Abigail Hardingham) becomes intrigued by her supermarket co-worker Rob (Cian Berry). The only thing she knows about him is that he tried committing suicide after surviving the car accident his girlfriend, Nina (Fiona O’Shaughnessy) died in. After speaking briefly, things move quickly for Holly and Rob as the two try to forget their pasts. As soon as it gets hot and heavy, bloody and deceased Nina shows up looking for her man’s affection. Although freaked out, Holly wants to fight to stay in Rob’s life even if it means sharing him with a ghost. Nina refuses to give into Holly’s wishes and reminds her constantly that Rob won’t ever leave her. Torn between his feelings for both women, Rob eventually chooses his young, new, living girlfriend and asks Nina to go away for good. But doesn’t he know, Nina is forever?
The memories of losing someone literally come to life in Nina Forever as she shows up at the most inconvenient times. Nina’s pestering and jealous girlfriend tendencies constantly put Holly and Rob’s relationship on hold forcing them in a constant state of upset and confusion. However, the award-winning Blaine brothers make sure the story isn’t completely somber. The two give a new meaning to the “Devil’s Threesome” phrase in Nina Forever by giving the dark, gothic tale a quirky and comical twist. Just when you think Nina might allow Rob and Holly to have their fun, she reminds us that she doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon.
