In 1984, a loser pizza delivery boy Whitey Johnson is run over by a semi-truck on live television, and survives, making him an instant local hero. The world watches as Whitey vows not only to walk again, but to win his town’s breakdance competition. The truck driver and ex disco dancer, is sentenced to train him. Whitey struggles to conquer bully breakdancers, to win the heart of a disinterested girl, and to live up to the name of "The Breakdance Kid!"
