23 Nov Review: Lies and Deception: UFOs and the Secret Agenda – What They don’t Want You to Know
FlixFling contributor Rebecca Raymer reviews Lies and Deception: UFOs and The Secret Agenda – What They Don’t Want You to Know
A production of Edge Media, this film features two wizened experts on the phenomena of aliens from outer space and UFOs in general: Nick Pope and Timothy Good.
Both of these men are certainly knowledgeable about the thousands of documented, reported, and unexplained accounts of suspected extra-terrestrial activity. They both also fell short of establishing any sort of realistic credibility.
With a title like Lies and Deception: UFOs and the Secret Agenda – What They don’t Want You to Know, there is a certain expectation of an unveiling of information and facts that will shock any viewer. While there were definitely shocking statements and images, there was nothing produced that has not already been seen or heard before, except for unsubstantiated claims made by Pope and Good.
This film was obscenely inefficient with its presentation of information – it could have been much shorter and conveyed the same information in a more strictly-edited form. Condensing the film would also make it much easier to watch the entire thing start-to-finish, and if that was not enough, there is an additional hour of mundane interviews supplied in the extras.
In addition to being a boring let-down, this movie – particularly in the first half – is overrun with an astounding flood of graphics and audio effects. It seemed as though there was an attempt to fill in all of the banality with home-computer special effects, and a hope for it all to mix together smoothly (which it did not).
