Barossa Valley Estate Vineyard: Barossa Valley Estate is quite unique in its co-operative approach to producing and marketing premium-bottled wines. With the recent opening of a new winery, it is a must for anyone visiting the Barossa. The entire complex is built on 80 hectares of land. There are 43 hectares of new vine plantings and 7 hectares of established vineyards. The very essence of the Barossa Valley is captured with its unique landscape of vineyards, stone cottages and church spires. It reflects the profound influence of the first German settlers in the area. Local stone was taken from a nearby property and has been used in some of the buildings to complement the older architectural style of the region. This blending with modern styles helps create a mix of tradition and innovation. Passion and enthusiasm are words that describe Barossa Valley Estate’s wine maker Stuart Bourne. The pursuit of excellence in viticulture, winemaking and consumer satisfaction is very much evidence. The breadth of selection of vineyards throughout the Barossa Valley provides the winery with the opportunity to produce a wide selection of premium varieties which are 100 per cent Barossa. The flagship E and E Black Pepper Shiraz has great character with rich peppery shiraz flavors and oak complexity. The 1998 E and E Black Pepper Shiraz was voted the best shiraz in the world for 2001 by US magazine, Wine Enthusiast.
