Chain of Ponds Vineyard: The Adelaide Hills has really come into its own as one of Australia’ great wine growing regions. Chain of Ponds, Australia’ most awarded boutique winery, is located at Gumeracha just 45 minutes from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills. The quality of the white wines made here is said to rival the great white wines of Burgundy. The Amadio family came to Gumeracha 1985 and started the winery with an initial planting of 3 acres. It was soon realized that the vineyard was capable of producing premium fruit and plantings were increased to 150 acres. In 1997 a further 300 hundred acres were put under vine at Kersbrook to increase premium fruit production. The passion for wine making in the Amadio family can be traced back through the centuries and the tradition continues to this day. Chains of Ponds cellar door and restaurant provide the ultimate gourmet experience – surrounded by breath taking views, reminiscent of the undulating hills of Tuscany. Achieving national recognition for traditional expression and innovation, the restaurant is a testament to the talents of Jenny Amadio. Chain of Ponds is well recognized for its ability to produce premium wines that provide a true expression of the region. These finely crafted wines are now under the care of one Australians leading wine makers, Neville Falkenberg.
