Penny’s Hill Vineyard: The name Penny’s Hill comes from the geographic location of the original vineyard. With an increasing demand for the label a property at Ingleburne, just outside McLaren Vale was purchased. Being a small winery has significant benefits. They grow all their own fruit and have a much greater control over the wine making process. Penny’s Hill can offer customers a stronger connection with the brand. It is important to the winery to build and preserve strong relationships with their customers. Penny’s Hill has been sympathetically redeveloped, preserving and restoring the original buildings dating back to the 1850s. The cellar door is more of a cultural complex embracing wine tourism. The heritage galvanized iron building and heated floors create a warm and inviting environment all year round. The red dot gallery features paintings from local artists. This cultural feel is carried through to the function centre. Supported by a modern commercial kitchen, it combines high technology with rustic charm. In keeping with the past, the winery is surrounded by original stone walls. Within the property stringy bark posts and fence rails are used. The carefully restored blue stone homestead will become a haven for artists and cultural events.
