Woodstyock Vineyard: Scott Collett is the second-generation winemaker at Woodstock Winery. His father Douglas was inspired to become a winemaker after flying his Spitfire over the vineyards of Europe during World War II. The traditions in wine making established by Douglas are continued today. The emphasis is on creating and preserving grape flavours in generous ‘value for money’ wines. The process starts in the vineyard and requires careful attention at every stage of production. Woodstock is home to some the world’s oldest Shiraz vines, believed to be over one hundred years old. These old vines still consistently produce exceptional fruit each year. The premium label The Stocks Shiraz is produced from these vines. The name Woodstock comes from the town of Woodstock in Oxfordshire in England. The original owners emigrated to McLaren Flat and named it after their hometown. A replica of the original stocks in the town centre of Woodstock, Oxfordshire can be found at the entrance to the Woodstock Winery. Woodstock Coterie is open for casual lunches seven days a week, and is an ideal location for functions, conventions and wedding receptions. The word Coterie means a group of people, circle of friends, or circular building. Woodstock winery and Coterie offer fine wines, good food, warm hospitality and cottage accommodation in one location.
