In this classic screwball comedy, Carole Lombard stars as Hazel Flagg, the plucky gal from Vermont who mistakenly believes she’s dying of radium poisoning. Unscrupulous journalist Wally Cook brings Hazel to New York city with the intention of using the tragedy as a way to repair his tarnished career. He turns the doomed young woman into a media darling, but complications arise when it is discovered that Hazel has been faking the illness in order to escape her dull, small-town life. To make matters worse, the callous Wally finds he may actually have feelings for Hazel!
