In this episode of the 1950’s TV religious anthology Family Theater, a group of wartime soldiers spend a cold and lonely Easter morning far from home questioning their fate and the seeming pointlessness of capturing hill after hill. The unit’s chaplain arrives and renews the faith of the battle-weary men by reminding them of the Resurrection. The dramatization of the event begins just after the Crucifixion as Joseph, Mary, the Apostles, Nicodemus, Pontius Pilate, and other significant characters ponder the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice.
