11 Mar Exclusively Available on FlixFling
Prepare to be shocked if you watch this week’s Friday Flix pick. This past Tuesday we released our very first FlixFling exclusive, The Corpse of Anna Fritz directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens. It’s a Spanish psychological horror film that follows the death of Anna Fritz, the most well-known and desirable actress in the world. Pau (Albert Carbó) is a young employee at the morgue that Anna Fritz is sent to. As soon as he sends his friends Ivan (Cristian Valencia) and Javi (Bernat Samuell) a picture message of her naked body, the two rush over to see her in person. What starts as curiosity for the guys immediately becomes disturbing, intense, and corrupt. Although they don’t assume that they could get caught fondling Anna Fritz, they’re in for a big surprise. You must see the movie to truly believe it.
Perhaps one of the most interesting thoughts on the film is best described by movie reviewer Matt Donato from We Got This Covered when he says, “the claustrophobic horrors that haunt each scene delve relentlessly deep into the psyche of everyone involved”. The Corpse of Anna Fritz is more than what you see on the screen, it tests morals and forces you to think of how you would react in the same situation. Viewers are calling this film the “next cult classic” and fans of the controversial horror, A Serbian Film, are just as excited to see a similar addition to the genre.
