The film takes place at the vulnerable time of passage between childhood and adulthood. It’s the summer after his high school graduation and Greg is headed off to college. Greg had developed a crush on his mother’s old girlfriend, Evelyn, who is more than twice his age and lives across the street. This crush develops into a full fledged love affair in the heat of the summer, much to the horror of both families, in particular Greg’s mother. Meanwhile, down the street, Greg’s long time friend Rebecca comes out as a lesbian through her relationship with Denise. As the lives of these kids are fast becoming very complicated, they must prepare to leave the nest of their parents and the place of their childhood. A powerful relationship drama, merges between Welcome to the Dollhouse and Notes on a Scandal, from director Jeff Lipsky.
