The Most Terrifying ABCs You’ll Ever Learn.

This week’s feature, The ABCs of Death, is comedy-horror compilation of 26 short vignettes as told by various, prominent genre directors from all over the world. Premiering at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, the film assigns to each director a letter of the alphabet as inspiration for a unique death scenario. The shorts are as varied as the directors who crafted them and the countries from where they originate, ranging from horribly gruesome to downright laughable. Standouts from this interesting collection include: “D for Dogfight,” a slow motion look at a boxer and his vicious pet, “H is for Hydro-Electric Diffusion,” a rather comedic segment involving the seduction of a male dog dressed as a British fighter pilot by a female Nazi fox, and “R is for Removed,” a dark depiction of a man who seeks revenge after having multiple, invasive skin removal surgeries. The ABCs of Death is certainly not for the faint of heart, but if you can stomach the gore, this anthology is sure to provide some chills, thrills, and even a couple laughs.
