It’s 1959 and the country is on the bring of change from the idyllic 50’s to the turbulent 60’s, mirroring the changes taking place in Maddie, a teenage girl whose on the brink of womanhood. Living in a boardinghouse with Claire, a French war widow, and their impromptu family of women, they aid each other in difficult and joyous times. The women face choices with pregnancy and abortion, career and marriage and love and loyalty in this touching coming of age tale about young women in America.
