Jesse Eisenberg, Imogen Poots and Alessandro Nivola star in ‘The Art of Self Defense,’ a dark comedy written and directed by Riley Stearns about a loner (Eisenberg) who joins a local karate dojo after being attacked at random on the street one night. While learning the art of self-defense from an enigmatic sensei (Nivola), he soon discovers a dark world of violent machismo and a woman (Poots) fighting for her place within it.
