Joe, who lives a life of solitude by choice on a ranch in the mountains of Colorado, has his life of solitude interrupted when his luckless son Dylan gets paroled from prison. Estranged from his son, Joe reluctantly agrees to take him in, on the condition that he has changed his way. Dylan, a good kid but with a dark cloud of misfortune hanging over him, that seems to follow him wherever he goes, hasn’t spoken to his father in years. But he has nowhere else to go. The two slowly start to repair the rocky relationship when bad fortune strikes Dylan again, setting in motion a chain of events with dire consequences for all involved.
