08 Jan Go For The Gold!

In honor of the 73rd Golden Globe Awards coming up this Sunday we’ve decided to feature two films found on FlixFling that have been nominated this year! Although the predictions for this year’s winners are still indefinite, we will be crossing our fingers for our favorites. We’re hoping that Mad Max: Fury Road wins “Best Motion Picture (Drama)” and Alicia Vikander from Ex Machina wins “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture” this year. FlixFling viewers can’t get enough of either of these titles.

Mad Max: Fury Road is one of those films that made a comeback that actually works, thanks to Director George Miller. Miller had to be particularly innovative, but no one expected this much beauty or excitement from the fourth film of an action series. This is one film that should definitely win Best Picture, but the others in the running (Carol, The Revenant, Room, and Spotlight) are just as strong, making it all the more interesting.

Although Alicia Vikander’s performance in Ex Machina is categorized as a “Supporting Actress”, we truly believe she was one of the main characters, or “main A.I.”. It’s enough of a challenge playing another person, but she took things to the next level when she channeled something beyond humanity. Not to mention she made it look easy and natural, which we find extremely impressive! It was hard to take your eyes off of her every time she was in a frame.

If you haven’t seen either of these titles yet, check them out today to make your own judgments. We’ll see if our 2016 predictions are correct!
