This Week’s Must-Sees

Hitting theaters today, as well as FlixFling, comes the Magnolia Pictures film Entertainment. Featured as one of our FridayFlix picks this week, this surreal comedy follows a comedian, played by Gregg Turkington, through the California desert in search of his estranged daughter. Along the way he tries to restore his career, keeping in mind the big Hollywood performance he was promised. Next on our list is the Warner Brothers film set at the height of the Cold War. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. stars Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill, as CIA Agent Solo, and The Social Network’s Armie Hammer, as KGB agent Kuryakin. These two team up against a mysterious criminal organization and must prevent a worldwide catastrophe before it’s too late. Staying within the action adventure genre is our next pick, Boy Wonder. After a young boy witnesses his mother’s brutal murder and becomes traumatized, he obsessively searches for her killer. The film challenges morals, justification, and perceptions before reaching its shocking ending. On a lighter note, we have featured the family film, Max. The story follows a dog stationed in Afghanistan alongside his handler, U.S. Marine Kyle Wincott. After suffering a traumatic experience, Max is shipped back to America to live with Wincott’s family. Unfamiliar with this setting, Max finally connects with Wincott’s brother and reverts back to his heroic self. Among the different genres chosen for you this week, there’s a movie for everyone to enjoy!
