Drum Roll Please!

In honor of the 67th Emmy Awards nominations being announced, FlixFling would like to invite you to check out some of our favorite nominees in this week’s featured FridayFlix picks! First on the list is Christina Hendricks, better known as Man Men‘s fierce Joan Harris, who has been nominated this year for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.”  After watching her performance in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, Lost River, we couldn’t think of someone who deserves the award more! This dark fairy tale follows a single mother (Hendricks) as she strives to hold her family together while their city spirals into a dark and horrifying underworld. Next, comes Maggie Gyllenhaal in the award-winning role of Nessa Stein in The Honourable Woman, now nominated for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie.” Although she plays a supporting role in the Magnolia Pictures film Frank, it is one musical comedy worth seeing if you haven’t already. From one of our absolute favorite comedies about family, heartbreak, and love, This Is Where I Leave You, comes two nominees: Tina Fey and Adam Driver. Driver is hoping to take home the award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” for his role as the quirky Adam Sackler in HBO’s Girls, while Fey is in the running for “Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series” for her hilarious appearance as Marcia Clark in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. As you keep an eye out for this year’s Emmy winners, be sure to watch these stars in a few of FlixFling’s best!
